TLDR The new herbal shampoo effectively controls dandruff using natural ingredients.
This study aimed to create and evaluate a polyherbal anti-dandruff shampoo designed to control dandruff, caused by the Malassezia furfur fungal infection, while avoiding harmful chemical ingredients. The shampoo formulation included a blend of natural herbs such as Neem, Bhringraj, Shikakai, Tulsi, Reetha, Aloe vera, Lemon juice, Orange peel, Ginger, Curry leaves, and Hibiscus, which are intended to clean the scalp, provide hair conditioning, and promote hair growth. The shampoo's effectiveness was assessed through various evaluation parameters including visual inspection, pH, viscosity, dirt dispersion, surface tension, foaming ability, foam stability, antidandruff testing, and stability studies. The primary objective was to replace synthetic ingredients in anti-dandruff shampoos with safer, natural alternatives.
