TLDR Finasteride helps reduce blood vessel growth in diabetic rat kidneys.
The study investigated the effects of finasteride on microvessel density and expression of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) in renal tissue of diabetic rats. The results showed that finasteride reduced microvessel density and VEGF expression in the renal tissue of diabetic rats, suggesting a possible therapeutic effect on diabetic nephropathy.
