TLDR Hair transplant improved a facial scar and patient satisfaction.
A 26-year-old male with a facial scar from a burn injury 15 years prior was treated using 2,642 hair grafts from the scalp. The scar, located on the right cheek, had been problematic due to recurrence and widening after serial excision in another hospital. After one year, the patient showed excellent hair growth in the scarred area and high satisfaction with the treatment. There was also a noticeable improvement in lip deviation. The study suggests that hair restoration in the hair-bearing region of the face can be a permanent, single-stage solution for managing facial scars.
