TLDR Exosomes from modified stem cells may help treat liver injury.
The study investigated the therapeutic effects of exosomes derived from hepatocyte-growth-factor-overexpressing adipose mesenchymal stem cells (ADMSCHGF-Exo) on liver injury in mice. The results demonstrated that ADMSCHGF-Exo had a hepatoprotective effect, as evidenced by the alleviation of hepatic fibrosis and the restoration of liver function in the experimental models. This suggests that ADMSCHGF-Exo could be a potential treatment for liver injury.
