TLDR Adipose stem cell exosomes can effectively reduce facial redness and improve skin health in atopic dermatitis patients.
The study investigated the use of adipose stem cell exosomes (ASCE) to treat dupilumab-related facial redness (DFR) in 20 patients with atopic dermatitis over 12 weeks. Weekly topical applications of ASCE significantly reduced erythema and improved skin hydration and barrier function. The treatment decreased the erythema index (EI) and mRNA expression of IL-1α while increasing FLG and VEGF expression. These results suggest that ASCE can effectively manage DFR by downregulating inflammation and enhancing skin barrier proteins and angiogenesis.
