TLDR Exosome therapy shows promise for treating skin conditions and improving wound healing.
This review highlights the potential of exosome-based therapies in dermatology, particularly for treating alopecia and enhancing wound healing. Exosomes facilitate intercellular communication and have shown promise in stimulating hair follicle growth and tissue regeneration. They promote dermal papilla cell proliferation and modulate inflammation, cell migration, and tissue remodeling, accelerating wound healing. Both human-derived and plant-derived exosomes exhibit favorable safety profiles, with plant sources offering production and biocompatibility advantages. However, further research is necessary to fully understand their long-term safety and establish standardized clinical protocols. Current findings underscore the potential of exosome therapy in precision medicine for dermatological conditions.
