The study evaluated the efficacy and safety of finasteride 1 mg in 3177 Japanese men with androgenetic alopecia (AGA) over a period of 3.5 years. The majority of patients exhibited moderately or slightly increased hair growth, with response rates ranging from 81.0-91.3%. The study also found that adverse reactions occurred in 0.7% of the entire study population, with decreased libido being the most common. The study concluded that finasteride 1 mg is an effective and safe treatment for AGA in Japanese men.
