TLDR The method improved CoQ10's stability and effectiveness for anti-ageing skincare.
This study evaluated the use of a protransfersomal emulgel to enhance the delivery and stability of Coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10) for anti-ageing purposes. CoQ10 was loaded into a protransfersome and then dispersed in an emulgel base, resulting in a stable formulation over 28 days. In vivo tests on UV-ray aging-induced male Balb/c mice showed that the Protransf-CoQ10 Emulgel increased collagen density and fibroblast cell numbers, indicating its potential for repairing skin ageing. The formulation was also non-irritating, as no erythema or skin rash was observed after 24-hour application. The study concluded that this method successfully improved the stability and efficacy of CoQ10, suggesting its potential use in anti-ageing cosmetics.
