TLDR The combined therapy effectively treats androgenetic alopecia.
The study observed the effects of catgut embedding, moxibustion, and bleeding therapy on androgenetic alopecia in 82 patients, divided into a treatment group and a control group of 42 each. The treatment group received the specified therapies, while the control group was treated with finasteride tablets. Over a 3-month treatment period with a 6-month follow-up, the treatment group showed better clinical efficacy than the control group at the third and sixth months, with significant differences in serum testosterone levels, estradiol levels, and their ratio. The study concluded that the combined therapy provided a definite clinical efficacy for androgenetic alopecia.
