TLDR The combined treatment effectively treats androgenetic alopecia and improves quality of life.
The study observed the effects of catgut embedding combined with moxibustion and bloodletting on androgenetic alopecia in 84 patients, divided into a therapy group and a control group, each with 42 participants. The therapy group received the combined treatment, while the control group was treated with finasteride tablets over a 3-month cycle. Results showed that the therapy group had significantly higher total effective rates at the 3rd and 6th months compared to the control group. Additionally, the T/E2 ratios in the therapy group were significantly lower at these intervals. The study concluded that the combined treatment method could effectively treat androgenetic alopecia, reduce pain and stress, and improve the quality of life for patients.
