TLDR The food supplement improved hair growth and strength in people with a certain type of hair loss and had no major side effects.
The study evaluated the effectiveness of a nutraceutical supplement, Bioscalin® NOVA•Genina, on 60 subjects (33 females and 27 males) aged 18-65 with telogen effluvium-like hair loss. The supplement, containing a mixture of phyto-compounds and other ingredients known for their hair growth benefits, showed a significant increase in anagen hair and hair density, and a decrease in vellus hair, suggesting a reduction in hair miniaturization. These effects were evident after 15 days and persisted for two months after the last dose. The supplement also improved hair tensile strength and self-reported improvements in hair growth, volume, and shine. No significant side effects were reported. The study concluded that nutritional supplementation may be beneficial in telogen effluvium-like phenomena when there are no associated hormones.
