Effectiveness of Hair Tonic with Ethanol Extract of Ambon Banana Peel (Musa Paradisiaca L.) on Hair Growth

The study investigates the effectiveness of a hair tonic made from Ambon banana peel (Musa paradisiaca L.) extract on hair growth. The research utilized the maceration method with 96% ethanol to create the extract, which contains flavonoids, tannins, phenols, and alkaloids. Three formulations with extract concentrations of 2% (F1), 4% (F2), and 8% (F3) were tested. All formulations showed significant hair growth, with F3 demonstrating the best results, although it was still significantly different from the positive control (K+). The study concludes that the ethanol extract of Ambon banana peel positively influences hair growth.
