TLDR Kangfuxin (KFX) extract speeds up wound healing and improves skin regeneration.
The study examined the effects of Kangfuxin (KFX), an extract from Periplaneta americana, on cutaneous-wound healing using both in vitro and in vivo models. KFX significantly enhanced cell proliferation, migration, and wound healing rates, with complete healing observed within 8 days in a mouse model. The treatment led to increased wound closure, thicker granulation tissue, and enhanced hair follicle regeneration. Immunohistochemistry and immunofluorescence analyses showed higher expression of wound-healing markers and activation of the STAT3 signaling pathway in KFX-treated groups. The findings suggest that KFX could be an effective and economical treatment for cutaneous wounds, although further investigation into its molecular mechanisms and potential toxicity at higher doses is needed.
