TLDR Astringent persimmon fruit extract can promote hair growth.
This study investigated the effects of astringent persimmon fruit extracts on hair growth in genetically predisposed balding Black mice. The research found that applying a water extract of astringent persimmon fruit (10 mg/mouse/day) significantly increased the hair existing area and hair length compared to the vehicle-treated control group (P > 0.001). Histological assessments showed a notable increase in the number of hair follicles in the persimmon-treated group. These results suggested that topical application of astringent persimmon fruit could promote hair growth by extending the hair existing area and increasing hair length, indicating a prolonged anagen phase.

      community Verteporfin and Microneedling

by nkrata in Treatments 1 year ago
Clinical studies by Dr. Barghouthi and Dr. Bloxham indicate that Verteporfin, when used with FUE and FUT hair transplantation methods, shows promise in hair follicle regeneration and minimal scarring due to its ability to inhibit Yes-associated protein (YAP). Microneedling at depths of 3-3.5mm, combined with Verteporfin, could potentially reactivate dormant follicles, although the optimal dosage and application method are still under investigation. Concerns remain about the DHT sensitivity of regenerated follicles, highlighting the need for further research to optimize trauma levels and Verteporfin concentrations to achieve effective and scar-free hair regeneration.
