The study examined the effects of combining testosterone undecanoate (TU) and dutasteride in 130 patients with testosterone deficiency (TD) and benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). It found that both treatments improved testosterone levels and alleviated TD symptoms, but the combination treatment significantly reduced prostate volume more than TU alone. However, the combination was less effective in improving sexual function symptoms. The study concluded that while the combination therapy effectively reduced prostate volume, caution was advised when using dutasteride in patients primarily concerned with sexual dysfunction.
