The study evaluates the hair growth-promoting potential of Durdhuradi Taila, an Ayurvedic formulation, by examining its effect on 5α-reductase gene expression, which is crucial in the conversion of testosterone to dihydrotestosterone (DHT). DHT is known to shorten the hair growth cycle and cause hair follicle miniaturization, leading to androgenic alopecia, the most common form of hair loss affecting nearly 50% of men and women.
