TLDR Tramadol and THC-COOH can be detected in hair for several months after stopping use.
The study investigated the disappearance rates of Tramadol and THC-COOH in hair after discontinuation of abuse among 8 tramadol users and 15 cannabis users. It found that Tramadol disappeared from hair within 3-4 months, while THC-COOH remained detectable for 6-7 months. The research highlighted two distinct elimination profiles, suggesting different mechanisms influencing their persistence. The study recommended a 9-month period before re-testing for THC-COOH and a 6-month period for tramadol to ensure fair interpretation of hair test results in forensic and clinical applications.
