TLDR Understanding the 2D:4D digit ratio in vitiligo patients may help in clinical assessments.
The study investigated the relationship between digit length, digit (2D:4D) ratio, and vitiligo among 98 adult vitiligo patients in Port Harcourt, Nigeria. Measurements of the second and fourth fingers were taken using a digital vernier caliper. Results indicated significant positive correlations between 2D and 4D lengths for both hands in males and females, with a significant negative correlation between 4D length and digit ratio in females. The study concluded that understanding the 2D:4D ratio in vitiligo patients could be beneficial in clinical anthropometry, though further research is needed due to the small sample size.
