TLDR Menopause worsens skin, hair, and nails, affecting self-esteem and quality of life.
The study interviewed 463 postmenopausal Brazilian women aged 42-83 to assess dermatological changes during menopause and the impact of hormone replacement therapy (HRT). Significant skin and hair changes were reported, including increased skin laxity (70%), dryness (53%), and hair loss (51%). HRT alleviated some symptoms but is not typically recommended solely for skin and hair issues. The study highlights the need for better education and targeted cosmetic products for menopausal women. Despite HRT improving menopausal symptoms significantly, it also had side effects such as weight gain and increased body hair. The study emphasizes the importance of providing clear information about HRT's risks and benefits to improve the quality of life and self-esteem in menopausal women.

The treatment for androgenetic alopecia involves using finasteride and minoxidil with intense exercise and cold exposure to boost metabolism and reduce androgenic effects, potentially leading to hair regrowth. This approach may activate biological pathways for improved hair and overall health.
