TLDR For best curls and hair health, use keratin and ceramide after rinsing, or skip rinsing for stable curls.
The study investigated the effects of different middle rinsing processes during perm treatments on curl formation and hair damage using untreated hair from a 32-year-old woman. Hair was categorized into healthy and damaged groups, with the latter being dyed to level 8. Both groups underwent perm treatment with the same solution, but with varied middle rinsing techniques. The findings suggested that for optimal curl formation, applying treatments like keratin and ceramide after middle rinsing and before neutralization was effective. However, to maintain hair health, avoiding middle rinsing or allowing moisture removal for stable curl formation was recommended, providing satisfactory outcomes for both customers and practitioners.
