TLDR Fermented Cornus officinalis can help hair growth.
The study evaluated the effects of Cornus officinalis fermented with Lactobacillus rhamnosus on hair growth in C57BL/6 mice. The fermentation maintained bacterial counts above 6 log CFU/mL and pH between 4 and 6. Six-week-old male mice were divided into four groups and treated topically for 8 days. The experimental group, which received the fermented Cornus officinalis, showed higher hair regrowth compared to the positive control group (minoxidil). There were no significant differences in body weight and food intake among the groups. The results suggested that Cornus officinalis fermented with Lactobacillus rhamnosus could be effective for promoting hair growth or preventing hair loss.
