TLDR Fermented Cornus officinalis promotes hair growth effectively.
The study evaluated the hair growth-promoting effects of Cornus officinalis fermented with Lactobacillus rhamnosus on C57BL/6 mice. Four groups of six-week-old male mice were treated topically for 8 days with different substances: saline (normal group), essence base (negative control), minoxidil (positive control), and the fermented Cornus officinalis mixture (experimental group). The experimental group showed higher hair regrowth compared to the positive control group, as observed through gross and histological examinations. There were no significant differences in body weight and food intake among the groups. The results suggested that Cornus officinalis fermented with Lactobacillus rhamnosus could be effective for hair growth or preventing hair loss.
