TLDR The deltamethrin solution effectively and safely treats and prevents lice in horses for up to one month.
The study demonstrated that a 10 mg/mL deltamethrin topical application was effective, safe, and practical for controlling lice infestation in horses. Involving 13 horses, the treatment showed rapid and prolonged efficacy, with a significant reduction in lice populations and prevention of new infestations for one month. The study included a control group and found that treating the entire group of horses was necessary to prevent reinfestation. No adverse events were recorded, indicating the solution's safety.
