TLDR The dog's condition improved after 21 days of treatment.
A 6-year-old Shih tzu and local mixed-breed male dog named Dede was diagnosed with demodicosis and babesiosis, presenting symptoms such as hair loss, itching, rancid odor, and tick infestation. Clinical examination revealed alopecia, erythema, crusting, hyperpigmentation, hemorrhage, and pruritus, with pale mucous membranes. Skin scrapings identified Demodex sp., and blood tests showed anemia, leukocytosis, lymphocytosis, granulocytosis, erythrocytopenia, and thrombocytopenia, with Babesia sp. in the blood smear. Treatment included ivermectin, diphenhydramine HCl, clindamycin, caviplex, fish oil, medicated shampoo, and deltamethrin spray. The dog's condition improved by the 21st day of treatment.
