TLDR Ivermectin with supportive therapies effectively treats canine demodicosis.
The study evaluates the clinical and therapeutic management of canine demodicosis in six dogs, highlighting the effectiveness of an ivermectin-based treatment protocol. The dogs, of various breeds and ages, exhibited symptoms such as alopecia, erythema, and pruritus. Diagnosis was confirmed through deep skin scraping and trichogram examination. Treatment included ivermectin, antibiotics, anti-inflammatory drugs, and benzoyl peroxide shampoo, leading to clinical recovery within 10-21 days. The study underscores the efficacy of combining ivermectin with supportive therapies for resolving both localized and generalized demodicosis in dogs.
