This case report details the clinical presentation, diagnosis, and management of Notoedres cati infestation in a 3-month-old Himalayan kitten in Makassar, Indonesia. The kitten exhibited symptoms such as alopecia, erythema, hyperkeratosis, and severe pruritus. Diagnosis was confirmed via skin scraping and microscopic examination. Treatment with topical antiparasitic agents (selamectin and sarolaner) and nutritional support led to significant improvement within one week. The report underscores the importance of early diagnosis, effective treatment, and environmental management to prevent reinfestation, especially in urban areas. It also highlights the need for routine ectoparasite screening, owner education on zoonotic risks, and further research on the treatment's efficacy in multi-cat households.
