Management of Notoedres Cati and Felicola Subrostratus Infestation in a Male Cat

    TLDR The cat's mite and lice infestations were successfully treated with medication and supportive care.
    A domestic cat diagnosed with scabiosis caused by Notoedres cati mites and Felicola subrostratus lice infestation was successfully treated at the Veterinary Internal Medicine Laboratory, Udayana University. The cat exhibited symptoms of hair loss, itching, crusts, and dandruff. Treatment included ivermectin injections (0.2 mg/kg) administered subcutaneously twice at 14-day intervals, diphenhydramine HCl for symptomatic relief, fish oil for supportive therapy, sulfur soap baths, and topical fipronil on the 14th day. The treatment regimen resulted in a positive outcome, effectively managing the infestations.
