TLDR Finasteride effectively treats male pattern hair loss with a 1 mg daily dose.
Clinical studies have shown that finasteride is a safe and effective treatment for male pattern hair loss. The recommended daily dose is 1 mg, which has been found to be the most effective in promoting hair growth and reducing hair loss. Higher doses do not provide additional benefits and may cause more side effects. The drug is generally well-tolerated with few adverse events reported.
