TLDR The ALGCS/GO30 scaffold effectively boosts mouse spermatogonial stem cell growth.
This study explores the use of chitosan/alginate/graphene oxide (GO) nanocomposite scaffolds to enhance the proliferation of mouse spermatogonial stem cells (SSCs), which are vital for male fertility. The research identifies the scaffold with 30 µg/mL of GO (ALGCS/GO30) as the most effective, significantly boosting SSC proliferation and showing optimal biocompatibility. The study utilized various analytical methods to confirm these findings, highlighting the scaffold's potential for in vitro applications in fertility preservation and regenerative medicine. The results suggest that ALGCS/GO30 scaffolds, with their excellent mechanical properties and ability to mimic the natural extracellular matrix, could be promising for SSC culture and tissue engineering.
