TLDR Sponge helps heal wounds faster with less inflammation and better skin/hair growth.
The study developed a bio-multifunctional alginate/chitosan/fucoidan sponge for wound healing. The sponge showed excellent hemostatic and antibacterial properties and promoted full-thickness wound healing by reducing inflammation, facilitating epithelialization, and enhancing angiogenesis and hair follicle regeneration. The study suggests that ACF sponges could be a promising candidate for wound healing applications.
