TLDR 132 compounds were found in Justicia procumbens L., including 77 new ones.
The study conducted a comprehensive analysis of the chemical constituents of Justicia procumbens L. (JP) using UHPLC-Q-Exactive Orbitrap Mass Spectrometry, identifying 132 compounds, including 54 lignans, 19 flavonoids, 31 organic acids, 18 alkaloids, and 10 other constituents. This research is the first systematic investigation of JP's chemical composition, aiming to enhance the understanding of its bioactive phytoconstituents and improve quality control for future clinical applications. The study highlights the plant's anti-inflammatory, antiviral, and antiplatelet activities, addressing the previously unexplored chemical basis for these effects and aiding in the standardization and validation of JP's traditional uses.
