TLDR Women with androgenic alopecia may have a higher risk of artery problems.
The study evaluated Carotid Intima-Media Thickness (C-IMT) in 30 young women with androgenic alopecia (AGA) compared to 30 age and sex-matched healthy controls. The results showed no significant difference in lipid profiles between the two groups. However, there was a statistically significant increase in C-IMT in the AGA patients, suggesting a higher susceptibility to atherosclerosis in individuals with AGA.
