TLDR IGF2BP3 and other m6A-related genes are linked to keloid formation and could be potential treatment targets.
This study investigates the relationship between N6-methyladenosine (m6A)-related genes and keloids by analyzing transcriptomic datasets from keloid and normal skin tissues. The research identified differential expression of several m6A genes, notably the upregulation of IGF2BP3 in keloid patients. Protein-protein interaction analysis highlighted six genes with significant differences between keloid samples. Gene ontology enrichment analysis showed that differentially expressed genes were primarily involved in cell division, proliferation, and metabolism. Additionally, significant differences in immunity-related pathways were found. These findings contribute to understanding the pathogenesis and potential therapeutic targets for keloids.
