TLDR Circular RNA ERCC6 helps activate stem cells important for cashmere goat hair growth by interacting with specific molecules in an m6A modification-dependent way.
The study reveals that circERCC6 plays a crucial role in activating secondary hair follicle (SHF) stem cells in cashmere goats through the miR-412-3p/BNC2 pathway, with m6A modifications being essential for this process. High circERCC6 expression during the anagen phase and its interaction with miR-412-3p to upregulate BNC2 mRNA were confirmed through knockdown experiments and dual-luciferase reporter assays. These findings provide insights into the molecular mechanisms of SHF regeneration and cashmere fiber growth, suggesting that targeting circERCC6 could enhance cashmere yield and quality.
