TLDR Beer yeast vesicles may improve hair follicle health.
The study explores the multifunctional bioactivity of extracellular vesicles (EVs) derived from Saccharomyces cerevisiae in hair follicle-related cellular models. These yeast-derived EVs were shown to enhance the proliferation of human hair follicle dermal papilla cells, promote keratinocyte migration and wound healing, and exhibit anti-inflammatory and antioxidant activities. They also stimulated collagen synthesis in fibroblasts, suggesting potential applications in hair growth and skin health. The findings indicate that yeast EVs could serve as a promising alternative to traditional hair growth treatments by delivering multiple biomolecular signals simultaneously.
