TLDR AP collagen peptides may help hair grow better and become stronger.
The study "AP collagen peptides improve hair growth and quality by promoting human hair cell proliferation and keratin synthesis" found that AP collagen peptides (APCP) can stimulate hair follicle cell proliferation and counteract H2O2-induced apoptosis, which is crucial for hair production and strengthening. APCP also suppressed the expression of dickkopf-1 (DKK1) and bone morphogenetic protein 6 (BMP6), which induce hair cell apoptosis. Additionally, APCP increased the expression of antioxidant enzymes, catalase and superoxide dismutase 1 (SOD1), and enhanced hair keratin expression. The study concluded that APCP could be a promising candidate for improving hair growth and quality, and mitigating hair loss.
