TLDR Anxiety is common in hair loss patients, especially women.
A study conducted on 81 patients with hair loss at the Cần Thơ Dermatology Hospital found that anxiety disorders are prevalent among these patients, with an overall rate of 30.9%. The study used the GAD-7 scale to assess anxiety levels and identified that patchy hair loss had the highest association with anxiety (37.9%). Female patients and those with a disease duration of 6 months were at a higher risk of anxiety, with female gender being an independent risk factor (p=0.001). The findings suggest that comprehensive management of hair loss should include psychological screening and support, especially for women.

Oral minoxidil is more effective than topical minoxidil for hair regrowth but may cause side effects like heart issues and increased body hair. Combining it with finasteride is common for better results, though side effects vary.
