TLDR Hair transplant surgery significantly reduces anxiety in balding patients, especially those under 30 years old.
The study "Anxiety and Hair Restoration Surgery" by Muhammad Ahmad and Mohammad Humayun Mohmand involved 50 bald patients who underwent hair transplant surgery. Using the Hamilton Anxiety Rating Scale (HAM-A), the researchers found that the average anxiety score decreased from 33.16 pre-surgery to 19.62 post-surgery, over an average time interval of 12.7 months. This indicates that hair transplant surgery significantly reduces anxiety in balding patients. The decrease in anxiety was more pronounced in patients under 30 years old.
