TLDR A woman with skin eruptions and hair loss improved significantly with ointment treatment.
A 29-year-old woman with amicrobial pustulosis (AP) presented with exudative eruptions and hair loss on the scalp, along with pustules and erythema on various body parts. Laboratory tests showed positive antinuclear antibodies (ANA) and rheumatoid factor (RF), but no other autoantibodies or symptoms of collagen diseases. Skin biopsies revealed neutrophilic infiltration and features similar to pustular psoriasis. Treatment with mometasone furoate ointment significantly reduced eruptions and induced complete hair regrowth within 2 weeks, with good control maintained over 6 years without scarring alopecia.
