TLDR Aconiti Lateralis Preparata Radix helps mouse stem cells grow and turn into bone cells faster than usual methods.
The study explored the effects of Aconiti Lateralis Preparata Radix (ALR) on mouse bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells (mBMMSCs), revealing that ALR enhanced cell proliferation through the ERK1/2 pathway and promoted osteogenic differentiation via the BMP-2/Smad-dependent Runx2 pathway. ALR treatment resulted in significant osteogenic differentiation within 2 weeks, faster than traditional methods, without inducing adipogenic differentiation. The presence of benzoylaconine in ALR was confirmed, suggesting ALR as a potential alternative to traditional growth factors for stimulating bone formation and treating bone-related diseases, though further research was necessary.
