This case report describes a male, uncastrated German Spitz dog diagnosed with alopecia X, a non-inflammatory dermatological disorder characterized by progressive hair loss. After ruling out parasitic and systemic diseases, the dog underwent orchiectomy and was treated with melatonin for 3 months. The treatment resulted in partial hair regrowth and a reduction in alopecic areas, indicating that orchiectomy combined with melatonin can effectively improve the dermatological condition associated with alopecia X.
