Referee Report: Effect of Aloe Vera Extract in Post-Burn Skin Repair in Rats

The study on 54 male Wistar rats demonstrated that Aloe vera extract significantly enhanced post-burn skin repair. The treatment group, which received Aloe vera gel, showed increased macrophage and fibroblast activity, greater epidermal thickness, and faster re-epithelialization compared to the control groups. By day 21, the treatment group exhibited improved wound healing, including hair regrowth and wound drying, suggesting Aloe vera's potential efficacy in treating burn wounds. The presence of acemannan in Aloe vera was believed to contribute to these effects by enhancing collagen synthesis and wound closure.
