TLDR Using PDRN injections and RF treatments improved revision nose surgery results without major side effects.
The study involved 30 patients who received a combination of polydeoxyribonucleotide (PDRN) injections and invasive bipolar radiofrequency (RF) treatments as adjuvant therapies for revision rhinoplasty and septoplasty to address contracted noses. They underwent 16 sessions, split evenly before and after surgery, at weekly intervals. The treatments were found to soften the nasal skin and improve its mobility, which facilitated tension-free revision surgery. After surgery, the therapies significantly improved nasal tip dimpling, contracture, septal deviation, and warping issues that were present from incomplete recovery post-revision surgery. The study concluded that these adjuvant therapies enhanced the outcomes of revision rhinoplasty and septoplasty without causing major side effects, but it also noted that further research is necessary to confirm these results and refine the treatment protocols.
