Evaluation of the Effect of Light Emitting Diodes Therapy to Reduce the Recovery Period of Rhinoplasty

    A randomized controlled clinical study involving 60 rhinoplasty patients evaluated the effects of light-emitting diode therapy (LEDT) on postoperative complications. The intervention group received red light therapy (660nm) three times daily for 10 minutes over 14 days. Results showed a significant reduction in ecchymosis and edema in the intervention group compared to the control group, with ecchymosis improving significantly in the first two weeks and edema primarily in the second week. Wound healing was notably better in the intervention group at two weeks and one month post-surgery. No adverse effects were reported, suggesting LEDT is effective in reducing early postoperative complications and accelerating recovery after rhinoplasty.
