TLDR Adapted classification better assesses male pattern hair loss and its link to heart disease.
This study aimed to improve the reliability of assessing male pattern hair loss (PHL) by analyzing the classifications for reliability when scores were grouped according to severity and alopecia pattern. The adapted classification performed consistently better than the original classification, and it could be useful in clinical practice and research studies. The study concludes that the improved reliability of the adapted classification could help elucidate the potentially important association between PHL and cardiovascular disease.
