TLDR Activin B helps start and grow hair follicles in mice.
The study investigated the role of activin B in the development and life cycle of hair follicles in mice. Researchers applied activin B at concentrations of 5, 10, or 50 ng/ml to cultured and neonatal mouse skin and monitored hair follicle development. The findings revealed that activin B effectively induced the initiation of hair follicles and promoted their development in neonatal mouse skin. Additionally, activin B-treated hair follicles transitioned from the telogen stage to the anagen stage and remained in the anagen stage, indicating that activin B played a significant role in promoting hair follicle initiation and development in mice.
