The findings indicated that the rs2476601 SNP was significantly associated with AA susceptibility, with carriers of the C-allele and CC-genotype having a lower risk of developing AA. Despite limitations such as a limited number of studies, potential publication bias, and a predominance of Caucasian populations, the study provided valuable insights into the genetic underpinnings of AA and suggested the need for further large-scale, multi-center studies across different ethnicities.
