TLDR CPGel hydrogel heals diabetic wounds effectively in 21 days.
The study introduces CPGel, a novel hydrogel for diabetic wound healing, combining Chlorella extracts, gelatin, and PEG. It employs a 3R strategy: Remove (antibacterial activity), Remodel (ROS scavenging and macrophage polarization), and Repair (enhanced angiogenesis and collagen deposition). In diabetic mice, CPGel achieved 100% wound closure in 21 days, outperforming controls. The hydrogel's mechanical robustness, transparency, and adhesion make it a promising, scalable, and toxin-free solution for chronic wound management, effectively integrating traditional herbal medicine with advanced biomaterial engineering.
