TLDR The method accurately measures 19 steroid hormones in human blood and urine using a small sample and is suitable for large-scale monitoring.
The document presents a study where a method was developed and validated for the simultaneous determination of 19 steroid hormones in human urine and serum/plasma using Liquid Chromatography-Tandem Mass Spectrometry (LC-MS/MS). The method was tested on 20 volunteers from New York City and showed good sensitivity, accuracy, and precision. It was also used to measure steroid hormones in plasma Standard Reference Material (SRM1950), and the results were compared to certified reference values. The method can be applied in large-scale population-based studies and can also be used in the analysis of steroid hormones in other matrices (e.g., hair and saliva) with slight modifications. The document does not directly address hair loss, alopecia, or hair growth.
