    Somatic Cell Nuclear Transfer (SCNT) is a laboratory technique where the nucleus of a somatic cell (a non-reproductive cell) is transferred into an egg cell that has had its own nucleus removed. This process can be used for cloning animals or for therapeutic purposes, such as generating stem cells that are genetically identical to the donor organism.
